Jace was walked out of his room and headed towards the training centre. He got in the centre, put on his training clothes and started training.

A few hours later he decided he'd trained enough for the day, and stopped. He was resting in the corner of the room, drinking water, and breathing heavily.

As he was resting, he couldn't help but think of Clary. How she just left, and said 'I want to be a Shadowhunter, but I don't want to see your face again' and slammed the door of the Institute in his face, a day earlier. It broke his heart to see the girl he's only loved, and only will love, just leave his arms forever. But, since Jocelyn, her mother, was working at the Institute, he knew she'd force her to come and see Isabella and Alec, so he could still see her even if she didn't want to see him.

He wondered why he'd been such an idiot. Why did he tell her to leave, and she was nothing in his life? Why didn't he tell her he loved her like nothing else in the universe? Why didn't he tell her to stay?

Jace shivered at the thought of thinking about all the horrible things he said last night to Clary. He wished he could take them all back, but once they're out, they're out. Since she slammed the door in his face, and said those things before she left, he's felt emptier and more alone than he's ever felt in his life.

As he got up, he winced. He was going to be sore in the morning, but what did he care. He didn't have anything left in his life, so he might as well start risking his life again, because there's nothing to live for. He walked back to his room, took a shower, and got in his boxers.

Throughout the night, he kept waking up because of nightmare of Clary. Demons would capture her, torture her, and then give her a slow painful death. He couldn't stand anyone hurting Clary, and there was nothing he could do to stop the demons.

At 11p.m he decided it was no use, and got up to go to the kitchen. He knew Isabelle was going to be there, and he needed to get his tiredness out by some facetious comments.

When he got to the door, he could smell pancakes. He took a deep breath, and walked in. Isabelle was standing by the stove, sure enough, flipping pancakes.

As he got closer, he thought he was dreaming it, but the smell was there. Citrus. Clary's hair always smelt like citrus, and he could recognize that scent anywhere.

He sat down on the island chair and Isabelle turned around to say, "Well, looky here. The teenager is finally awake," she turned back to flip another pancake. "Oh, and by the way, Clary was here 5 minutes ago. She looked pretty pissed, what did you do?" she raised her eyebrows.

"What?!" Jace protested. "I didn't do anything!" But Jace knew it was all his fault, he just didn't want to admit it.

"Well, she came in here looking all pissed. So I asked what's wrong, and she said ask your a-hole brother. So what do you have to say? And don't think you can get out of it." Isabelle said turning the stove off.

He took a deep breath. I might as well tell her, he thought to himself. He looked at her, "2 nights ago, I said things to Clary. Like I wish she'd leave. I told her she's nothing to me. I told her I never loved her. I wish I could take it all back though. I didn't mean any of it." Jace pleaded.

She looked at him, put her elbows on the table and put her head in her hands, "Then why did you?"

Jace put his hands on face, and put his elbows on the table to steady him. "I don't know. I really don't know. I guess I was just frustrated on finding out the girl I love is my sister."

"Wait, wait, wait, the girl you love? Are you sure we're talking about the same person," Isabelle said looking at Jace like she misheard him

Jace glared at her, and sighed, "Yes, the girl I love. When she showed up at Renwick's I just knew. But now, she hates me," He looked at the counter, and continued, but it looked like he was talking to himself instead of Isabelle. "She never wants to see me again, and now she's in the building and I can't do anything about it."

Isabelle just stared at him, "Well, you either have to tell her the truth and apologize or never talk to her again."

Jace stared at her, surprised, "What?"

"Oh, I forgot to tell you. Clary's mom got transferred to London for 2 months to help out there. And she's leaving in 2 days, that's why she was here, to tell me. So like I said, it's now or never." Isabelle put pancakes on a plate and gave it to him.

He stood up. He now knew what he was going to do to get Clary back. He took a deep breath and ran out the kitchen doors, and down the hall to find her.
