Jace: His one true love.

Setting: Jace just dropped off Clary at Amatis's house, and he starts thinking about her.
(PS: This is just before he confesses his love)

He stared at the door for a little bit longer before walking off into the night. As he was walking, his mind began to wonder about thoughts of the past few weeks...

If only she hadn't followed us and saw us kill that demon, he thought, none of this would have happened. Clary would have been dating Simon, and Jace would be flinging himself in paths of demons, risking his life 'cause he had nothing to live for.

But, she had shown up and changed everything. Everything.
She'd changed him in a good and bad way. Since the first moment he saw, he couldn't get her off his mind. Since he brought her back to the Institue-after begging Hodge to let him bring her back-he's wanted to kiss her.

Then that day finally did come. When Hodge told him it was her birthday, he decided to take her to the greenhouse to watch the Midnight flowers bloom. He was trying, oh so carefully, to control himself. But, when she turned around to apologize for bumping into him, he caved. He kissed her. And since then, he's wanted to do it again.

But, then he found she was his sister. That pretty much killed him. He thought it was cosmic joke, 'cause he didn't feel the way you were supposed to feel about your sister. After that, he tried to get over her, tried to get her out of his mind.  But that mane of red hair and those green eyes, kept seeping into his dreams.

And when she shown up at Renwicks, after thinking long and hard about her, he now knew he loved her. He loved her, but not in the way a brother should about his sister.

The day they went to Seelie Court came. Clary had drunk one of the Queen's drinks. So, she had to be freed by the kiss she most desired. Jace finally got his chance to kiss her again, and all the walls and control he built up over the past weeks, finally caved. He wanted to squeeze her into himself, if he could. With his mouth, he was trying to tell her he loved her, because if he said that outloud, that might make her scared.

After thinking about all of this over and over again, he got an idea.  By tomorrow night, they'd be under war or Valentines rule. He had to do something to Clary that will show he loves her.

As he rounded the corner, he found himself at Amatis's house again. He took a deep breath and walked to Clary's window.
"I have to do this", he whispered out-loud, "I have to do this or else I will regret for the rest of my life."

When he got to Clary's window, he took another deep breath and started to climb...
